Stillness in motion

My oil painting: 5 AM, Before Sunrise, Stillness in motion

A rock getting smashed by a turbulent river asks,

Can you flow quietly
Why do you always hit me harder
Shredding me into pieces

The turbulent river answers sadly,

I have no control over myself
I get pushed from the top
In myself, I drown
I am dragged and pulled down
I reach the depths of the ocean
In merging with ocean, I become nobody

In the middle of the river, a rock laughs and says,

I’m imprisoned here forever
I can’t move or flow as you do
I want to flow and reach the unknown
I can’t move or flow as you do

The sand below the water says with excitement,

I was once a rock
Now broken down to pieces
I flow along to see new places

With calm and composure, the ice on the frozen river bank speaks wisely,

I get frozen to be solid
I get melted to be liquid
I get vaporized to be gas
Again condensed to be liquid

I stay still, fly and flow
Flow when I’m allowed
I stand still to rest and grow
Grow until I’m found

I am stillness in motion
Motion in stillness
I don’t stay in past
I don’t anticipate future

I enjoy where I am
By being here and now
I am in the moment
And the moment is mine
